We’re taught to believe that weight loss is a simple equation of changing what you eat, how you move, or both. Yet for anyone who’s been on a ‘diet’ you’ll know that, in the long-term, this is often far from accurate.

For over 20 years seeing patients and across the last 5 years online, Dr Libby has been educating women through her very successful Weight Loss for Women course. Here, she teaches there are nine reasons why a someone might struggle to burn body fat effectively. In this Weight Loss series we’re going deeper because you get support directly from Dr Libby.

Every Monday night (dates and times below) for 9 weeks Dr Libby will be ‘going live’ in a workshop that aims to educate and answer your questions around weight loss.

Over the last two decades, Dr Libby has been researching and working with patients to help them better understand their biochemistry and improve their physical and emotional health. You’d be hard-pressed to find a ‘weight loss profile’ that Dr Libby hasn’t understood. She has never weighed a single client and learnt early on in her working life, that weight that “won’t shift” is a symptom of something else. And it’s the “something else” that needs to be addressed.

Learn from Dr Libby and other women in the group as Dr Libby demystifies weight loss, helps you feel supported and encourages you to get to the heart of why your body might be resisting using fat efficiently as a fuel–– whether this is biochemical, nutritional or emotional.

About Dr Libby Weaver

Dr Libby Weaver is one of Australasia’s leading nutritional biochemists, a 13 times best-selling author and a renowned international speaker. With a degree in dietetics, a PhD in biochemistry and over two decades of experience in clinical practice, Dr Libby draws on her wisdom and expertise to empower people to take charge of their health and happiness.

What leads the body to either store or burn body fat? This is the question that led Dr Libby to return to her biochemistry textbooks to explore what leads the body to get the message to either burn fat or store it. Uncovering the nine factors presented in the course, as well as helping people to answer the question “why do we do what we do, despite knowing what we know?” can support lasting change. It’s usually not a lack of knowledge that leads us to make poor quality food choices, nor is this related to a lack of willpower, as too many people believe. Dr Libby cares deeply about helping women around the world understand exactly what their body needs for great health and vitality.

Frequently asked questions

The live sessions will be recorded and made available within the course platform within 24 hours of the workshop.

The live sessions will be conducted through Zoom, where you will be able to connect with Dr Libby live, as well as other women in the workshop. The details of the Zoom calls will be provided to you upon signing up.

No, there is no need for you to have your camera on for the live sessions if you do not wish to, however we would love to see your smiling faces, and it can help to connect with the other women alongside you on your weight loss journey. You will also be able to ask questions in the chat alongside the video window.

This workshop series offers an opportunity that has never been offered before to be supported by Dr Libby herself as she guides you through the Weight Loss for Women course, in the format of weekly live sessions where she will educate you about your health, as well as having the chance to answer your burning questions.

Once you’ve enrolled, you’ll receive an email from us with all the details you need to login and access the online material. Each of your daily emails from Dr Libby will also direct you back to the platform and to the course material for that day. Zoom details for each live session will also be provided to you by email and in the workshop platform.

There are no forums in the workshop series, as you will be supported directly by Dr Libby in the live sessions with opportunities to ask her your questions. If you need additional support with the course content, you can also send us a message at anytime – send us a message.

The Weight Loss for Women course is designed to give women the knowledge they need to feel empowered to make better choices for their health. If less body fat would benefit someone’s health, it occurs when the factors driving the body to store fat are addressed, so it’s our mission

to provide you with insights about this, as well as help you re-establish a commitment to looking after yourself. There can be a plethora of things that get in the way of us prioritising our health so this course is also about exploring some of the common blocks that come up and why we sometimes do the things we do, even though we know better. Dr Libby will be supporting you as you complete the course across the nine weeks to enhance your understanding and answer your questions across the nine weeks.

You will have access to the course content and the live session recordings for a total of 12 weeks (three weeks after the workshop series ends) to give you plenty of time to revisit anything that you would like to.

Dr Libby is a qualified health professional, but she is not your qualified health practitioner, as she is not aware of your complete medical history and health picture. As a result, she will not be able to prescribe specific advice but she will educate you about the topics/symptoms you might be experiencing from her scientific understanding as well as her clinical experience.

The focus of this workshop is primarily on increasing your health and vitality through improving the biochemical functions within your body. If your body already utilises body fat as a fuel, this is not going to make you lose more weight. You’ll simply get all the other benefits of nourishing your body. So yes, you’ll learn a huge amount and likely be inspired to take even better care of yourself from a place of deeper understanding and appreciation for your amazing body.

Absolutely! Dr Libby will help to educate you about your body and your health and many women who have done our Weight Loss for Women course in the past have seen improvements in their menopausal symptoms, brain fog, exhaustion, PMS, irritability, moods, headaches, migraines, constipation, IBS, reflux, skin breakouts, bloating, sleeping issues, anxiety, and a host of other common health concerns. It will also help your body to mobilise body fat and use it as a fuel.

As well as a greater understanding of all of your body systems and the intricate interaction between them, including how they impact on your body’s ability to access body fat as a fuel source, you will also learn first-hand from Dr Libby how to better understand yourself through exploring some of the beliefs you’ve built around what you need to do to be loved/approved of, your relationship with food, and how you interact with the people in your life.

This workshop series is suitable for any woman wanting to gain a better understanding of her body and her health, particularly those women who struggle with body fat mobilisation, and for anyone who is looking to learn more from Dr Libby in a more intimate format.

While Dr Libby will make some suggestions around what to eat, there is no set meal plan or diet. Dr Libby’s philosophy is to bring you back to trusting yourself and what your own body needs through consuming nutrient-rich wholefoods. To help you with this, you will be provided with the Weight Loss for Women recipe eBook to inspire you.

Absolutely! Dr Libby will guide you to reconnect with your body and the messages it is sending you, enabling you to better understand what nourishes you and what doesn’t. If you are experiencing symptoms that lead you to suspect you may have food intolerances, it is important that you consult your GP to rule out any other causes for these symptoms.

While the Weight Loss for Women course is centred on helping you to enhance your health and vitality, pregnancy and breastfeeding are times when your body is primarily focused on growing a little human. It’s important not to make any significant changes during this time without consulting a medical practitioner, so we would advise waiting until you’ve finished breastfeeding. If you simply want to learn more, you are of course very welcome.

This workshop series is designed to be a journey towards greater health and will address common issues that women experience at all stages of their adult lives. It is suitable for females who have started menstruating, those who are post-menopausal, and everyone in between. Most people will tell you that you have to lose weight to be healthy, when in fact you have to be healthy to lose weight. So, with this focus on health, you may also find it assists with symptoms such as PMS, irritability, moodiness, headaches, migraines, constipation, IBS, reflux, skin breakouts, bloating, sleeping issues, anxious feelings, foggy brain, exhaustion, or those associated with menopause.

Most of the course videos sit around the 10-minute mark, though some are longer, and some are shorter. Remember you can take the course at your own pace over the nine weeks, and it’s designed to be flexible. However, if you wanted to keep pace with the daily content, we estimate between 15-30 minutes a day. The live sessions with Dr Libby will be around 60 minutes per week, for the nine weeks of the workshop series. These will also be recorded for you to view in your own time.
