Three stages of the stress response

STAGE ONE

High Adrenaline

The first stage is full of adrenaline and you’re often feeling—and acting—like superwoman. You feel like you can ‘do it all’ if only you work that little bit harder. You might notice you bloat easily or you don’t sleep well.

STAGE TWO

High Cortisol

Adrenaline is still high but now cortisol is too, which can lead to unexplained body fat increases, frequent colds/flus or blood sugar rollercoasters. Plus, sex hormone balance is usually disrupted by now.

STAGE THREE

HPA Axis Dysfunction

In stage three, add fatigue and thyroid symptoms (even though blood tests might be normal) to ongoing period problems or a challenging peri- or post-menopausal transition.

And it doesn’t stop there…

These symptoms are often just the beginning when it comes to the health consequences constantly being in a rush can elicit.

Frequently Asked Questions

This course is suitable for anyone who wants to stop living (or live less often) from a place of pressure, urgency and constant rushing. It’s for those who feel like people pleasing runs too much of their life and for those who have moments where they wonder when it will be their turn. In this course, Dr Libby applies her three pillar approach – the biochemical, nutritional and emotional, and we explore Rushing Woman’s Syndrome through these lenses. We look at what happens to your body—and the signs and symptoms it can offer you—when you’re constantly ‘rushing’ as well as the beliefs and mindset that creates it. And just as importantly, the course offers you practical strategies to literally retire from the rush, while still leading a full and meaningful life you love.

If you are familiar with Dr Libby’s work, you will know nutrition is one of three key pillars when it comes to health (along with emotional and biochemical). While some dietary suggestions and options will be offered throughout the course, there is no set meal plan or diet. The philosophy behind this course is to bring you back to trusting yourself and what your own body needs through consuming nutrient-rich wholefoods. A small selection of recipes is provided to help guide and inspire you.

You will receive three videos per week, with most of the videos sitting around the 15-minute mark, though some are longer, and some are shorter. There will also be some journal prompts in your daily emails. If you wanted to keep pace with the content, we estimate between 5-30 minutes a day.

If you have any technical difficulties, either around sign up or throughout the course, you can reach out to support@drlibby.com for assistance.
